Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr. are going stronger. They find ways to make their relationship work despite the challenges but somehow, all these COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns have presented themselves as obstacles in their blossoming romance.
Katie has been spending a lot of time with Emilio and his family and hopefully, he can spend time with her and her 14-year-old daughter, Suri, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise. The mother and daughter often spend the holidays in Ohio where most of Suri’s cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents live.
However, the chances of them spending the holidays together look dim. A source told ET that because of the pandemic, it’s still unclear if they can go to Ohio and whether or not Emilio can join them.
The source explained, “It’s pretty tricky for Emilio to do any traveling right now because of the new restrictions in place. If he leaves the state, he could be required to quarantine upon his return for anywhere from five days to two weeks, and that’s “just pretty unrealistic for someone in the restaurant world.”
The source added, “Katie is very close with her siblings and parents. Her family would love him, he’s hard-working, a big family man, and he makes her so happy.”
Meanwhile, Katie has already met Emilio’s family. She had spent a lot of time with them especially with his father and brother who work with him at the restaurant. She gets along well with them.
The source also mentioned that the pandemic hasn’t been all bad for Katie and Emilio. The nationwide lockdowns and quarantines are among the reasons why their relationship moved so fast.
“Katie wasn’t working or traveling as much as usual and things were slower at the restaurant for Emilio, so it really gave them the opportunity to focus on each other. Instead of a few dates over an extended period of time, they were able to have a month’s worth of dates in a matter of days,” the source explained.
Despite people thinking they’re moving too fast in their relationship, the fact is Katie and Emilio have known each other for a while. They met in the fall of last year and started dating this summer.
