The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is happening despite the pandemic! This year will mark its 94th parade which will take place in New York City.

However, there are some slight changes this year because of the pandemic but rest assured it will still have its famous dazzling features which are sure to make you and your whole family enjoy Thanksgiving. NBC prioritizes the safety of everybody especially when it comes to coronavirus. After careful preparation and planning, the parade will go on.

There are many celebrity appearances including Dolly Parton, Pentatonix, and many more. As usual, majestic floats, well-choreographed dance presentations, and special hosts are among the most anticipated at the event.

This year, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, and Craig Melvin will be running the show as hosts. It’s going to be Al’s 25th stint as host of the parade so people can expect a lot of hilarious moments throughout the event.

Many annual activities have been postponed and held virtually because of the pandemic and it’s the same with the 94th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It will be aired nationwide on Thursday, November 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.

In addition, there will be performances from Noah Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Patti LaBelle, Brett Young, and Keke Palmer among others. There will also be exclusive pre-taped performances from famous Broadway productions such as Jagged Little Pill, Mean Girls, Hamilton, and Ain’t Too Proud.

The big difference this year is that there won’t be a two-mile long crowd that will line the streets of Manhattan. Instead, people will be watching from home. Also, the helium balloons will be pulled along by specially designed vehicles instead of having the usual volunteers carry them.

Further, the overall number of participants was cut by 75 percent and those present will be wearing mask and observing social distancing. Also, the performances will be held at Macy’s flagship department store situated at the New York City’s Herald Square to avoid traffic congestion.

As mentioned, the show must go on and everybody will have the chance to watch the parade as it unfolds. Those at home can tune into NBC.com or stream the event via Verizon’s YouTube channel or Twitter page.
