Megan Fox is serious about leaving her husband Brian Austin Green.
The 34-year-old actress officially filed for divorce on November 25 a year after they separated in November 2019 and after over nine years of being married. They tied the knot in June 2010.
A source told E! News that the mother of three finally made the move to make their separation official after getting everything in order.
The source explained, “They needed to hash out custody and figure everything out. It’s been in the works and this was always her plan. As soon as they wrapped it up and the papers were in order, she filed. They will continue with 50/50 and have a plan for holidays.”
The insider added that Fox has already moved on from their relationship and is now dating rapper Machine Gun Kelly. She’s also looking forward to her future.
Their split became public last April after news broke out that the two were living separately but didn’t have plans to file their divorce yet. Green confirmed the news a month later. He said, “I feel like people are on paths in life sometimes and you’re on the same path, and you walk that path together, and things are working then paths just kind of separate sometimes.”
Fox shared some of their marital conflicts like the time she called Green out on Instagram after he posted a photo of him and their son Journey wearing costumes for Halloween. Fox said, “You’re so intoxicated with feeding the pervasive narrative that I’m an absent mother and you are the perennial, eternally dedicated dad of the year.” Green eventually cropped the photo to remove their son in the picture.
A source explained regarding her post, “She reached her breaking point and has had enough of Brian’s games. She is incredibly frustrated that he’s trying to make her look like a bad mom and decided to call him out on it. She especially hates that he’s using the kids to try and get back at her.”
Based on Fox’s filing of their divorce, she cited irreconcilable differences as basis. She also requested joint physical and legal custody of their children namely Journey, 4, Bodhi, 6, and Noah, 8. However, this isn’t the first time the actress filed for divorce because she also filed in 2015 but had it dismissed last year.
As reported earlier, Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset after three years of marriage.
