Khloe Kardashian confirmed that the Kardashian-Jenner clan will celebrate Christmas differently this year because of the pandemic.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians family is known for their extravagant annual December 24 party with celebrity guests including Jennifer Lopez, Drake, Christina Aguilera, and many more.
The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA. So we decided that we’re not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 🥺I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must— Khloé (@khloekardashian) December 7, 2020
A fan asked Khloe on Twitter if they’re doing the annual Kardashians Christmas part and the 36-year-old reality star responded, “The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA. So we decided that we’re not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must.”
She also told another fan that there will be no annual Christmas card photo this year, too. She tweeted, “We have not done anything. No Christmas photos and no Christmas Eve party this year. Covid has taken over.”
The Kardashian-Jenners live in Southern California where a new ‘Safer at Home’ order which states that “all public and private gatherings of any number of people from more than one household are prohibited” was implemented on Sunday. The new order was set following the rising number of coronavirus cases in the area.
In November, the reality star tweeted regarding their Christmas eve party, “I think it will have to be way smaller obviously. And I’m totally fine with that! But we’re definitely celebrating Christmas! It will just have to be small and safe. Maybe do rapid testing before. We have to think of what is safest.”
The momager Kris Jenner started the tradition in the ‘70s but daughter Kim Kardashian West took over in 2018. She turned her $60-million Hidden Hills mansion into a winter wonderland.- Advertisement -
Back then, an event expert estimated her expenses which included a light tunnel, art installation of Whoville trees, a tent that resembled a snow-capped mountain, and a ski slope among others, to around $1.3 million.
Last year, Kourtney Kardashian was host of their annual Christmas Eve party and had it at their home. Some of her decorations and props were a valley of poinsettias and a mini hot chocolate bar in a chalet. All these and more cost around $436,000.
