Emma Roberts is a mom!
The actress gave birth to her first child with Garrett Hedlund on Sunday, December 27 in Los Angeles according to TMZ. They named their baby boy Rhodes.
Emma first confirmed her pregnancy in August via Instagram. She wrote then, “Me…and my two favorite guys” and also included a photo of the actor and her growing baby bump. Her aunt, actress Julia Roberts, wrote “Love you” as she gets ready to meet her new great-nephew.
In October, the two had a garden-themed baby shower with a limited number of guests. The 15 people included Kristen Stewart and Camila Morrone among others. Emma thanked her family and friends for celebrating her pregnancy with her despite the threats of the pandemic.
The Scream Queen actress officially joined her co-stars Lea Michele and Billie Lourd after they also gave birth to sons this year. Emma joked that they didn’t plan it.
Emma and Garrett started dating sometime in March last year. The actress revealed that her endometriosis diagnosis forced her to freeze her eggs so she could have kids in the future. Her health condition affected her fertility and the news frightened her, especially the fact that she wouldn’t be able to have kids.
Over the summer, the actress’ mom Kelly Cunningham accidentally broke the news that Emma was expecting. She wasn’t ready to share the news yet but they had a miscommunication for her pregnancy reveal. Eventually, the actress blocked her mom on Instagram to prevent her from spilling other beans.
However, the mom and daughter tandem laughed the situation off although they got into a fight. They’ve made up and moved on with their lives.
On the other hand, Garrett was arrested in January for DUI or driving under the influence. A judge then ordered him to undergo counselling and his treatment was a success. Presently, he’s in a great place.
This year had been wonderful to Emma. In addition to being a new mom, she was the first pregnant cover star of Cosmo. Many celebrities were impressed with her photoshoot including Jessica Alba, January Jones, Isla Fisher, and more. Emma is also known for her very cute and unique pregnancy style.
As reported earlier, Gigi Hadid got back to work two months after giving birth.
