The USA healthcare workers are in for a treat!
Miley Cyrus took to Instagram on January 24 to inform fans what she would be performing during the Super Bowl LV’s TikTok Tailgate.
The Plastic Hearts singer wrote, “I’ll be there for TIKTOK TAILGATE!!! I can’t wait to put on a show for the NFL’s honored guests before the game…. Health care workers from Tampa and around the country! Join the tailgate at 2:30 PM ET FEBRUARY 7 on @TikTok & @cbstv.”
The event will take place on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium, home of Tampa Bay Buccaneers, just before the two teams face off. There will be 7500 healthcare workers expected to gather during the event. They’ve already had their two shots of the coronavirus vaccine and they’ll be watching Miley’s performance at the Super Bowl.
Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner, said in a statement, “These dedicated health care workers continue to put their own lives at risk to serve others, and we owe them our ongoing gratitude. We hope in a small way that this initiative will inspire our country and recognize these true American heroes. This is also an opportunity to promote the importance of vaccination and appropriate health practices, including wearing masks in public settings.”
Meanwhile, those who’ll be watching from home can tune in to TikTok and CBS to watch Miley’s performance.
Aside from the singer, there are other artists who’ll be performing at this year’s Super Bowl though it will have very limited in-person capacity because of the pandemic. Fans can watch Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan as they sing the National Anthem while H.E.R. will sing “America the Beautiful”.
Last year, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira delivered one of the most unforgettable and exhilarating Super Bowl performances ever. This year, The Weeknd will headline the show.
Miley has many reasons to celebrate because in addition to performing at the Super Bowl, she also shared on Instagram that her latest album, Plastic Hearts, is also doing well on the charts. The 28-year-old singer posted, “You did it again! Plastic Hearts has spent 6 weeks as the #1 rock album in the country. This is all because of YOU supporting my record! I don’t forget!”
