Time flies fast. Who would’ve thought it’s been 20 years since The Wedding Planner starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey was released.
J.Lo recently revealed what the actor told her before their on-screen kiss. The two laughed about with the actress saying she remembered it clearly as well as the unforgettable scene where she was almost hit by a dumpster as she tried to get her shoe out of a grate.
She said, “One of my favorite lines in the whole thing, one of the reasons why I love that script was, ‘You smell like grilled cheese and plums,’ I think I said, which is probably one of the best smells in the world. It was just the idea of her fading out and this Prince Charming just rescued her and her saying, ‘You smell like grilled cheese and plums.'”
Matthew also recalled that moment, telling her, “That was the day… I was like, ‘Oh, J.Lo is baller,'” after hurting her ankle while doing the stunt.
The actor explained, “A lot of people wouldn’t have done that. And I think that was the day when I was like, ‘Oh yeah, J.Lo breaks a sweat,’ meaning when you’re on set you love to do the work and you want to do all of the work, even stuff like that that could be potentially dangerous. I remember that.”
J.Lo. also mentioned about her upcoming projects including Shotgun Wedding. She was supposed to work with Armie Hammer but he was replaced by Josh Duhamel. Though she didn’t mention anything about the new casting, she’s been hoping for a real-life Wedding Planner reunion which can be made possible if Matthew stepped in for Armie.- Advertisement -
“I am about to go off and do my first movie in the bubble, as they call it, Shotgun, which would have been so—I actually was like, ‘We should do that one together,” she said.
At present, they won’t be appearing together in Shotgun Wedding but fans don’t have to give up hope yet. J.Lo added, “I have more that’s coming up and we’re going to do something again baby. Because we have to do something again. It’s been too long. 20 years is too long.”
Just recently Keira Knightley explained her reason behind adding a no nudity clause to all her contracts after giving birth in 2015.
