Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are the perfect match!
If you still find it unbelievable that the couple is right for each other, well the two musicians are also surprised.
Blake discussed with Natalie Morales of Today on Wednesday, February 10, about his and Gwen’s recent Super Bowl ad for T-Mobile. Based on the ad, Gwen reached out to Adam Levine, former coach of The Voice, in a fake flashback where she explained what she was looking for in a man. The connection was distorted and the Maroon 5 vocalist heard the opposite of the qualities she wanted. Therefore, he thought about Blake.
The country singer explained, “That’s what was funny about that commercial.”
Gwen and Blake have been together for a long time and they’ve already proven to everybody they’re meant for each other. In October, the couple announced their engagement after being together for five years.
According to the 44-year-old musician, there are still fans who are confused about their pairing. He explained, “Every day, if I look at social media or wherever, there’s always somebody commenting, going, ‘Man, what the hell happened to this world where Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are a thing now. So we thought it’d be fun to have some fun with it.”
The couple is having the last laugh though as they’re getting married, not to mention that many of their fans shower them with support. One of them is singer Miley Cyrus. The “Prisoner” singer even offered her services to be their wedding singer on their big day.
So how did this happen? It all started last January 31 when Gwen complimented the former Hannah Montana star on her wonderful performance at the NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts.
The two had a brief Twitter exchange with Miley being thrilled by Gwen’s compliment. She twitted, “ALSO @gwenstefani @blakeshelton I’ll be your wedding singer! I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want! It’s your special day! Cheers to loving you both almost as much as you love each other!” Gwen didn’t accept or reject her offer but she did thank her.
Hopefully, the coronavirus pandemic will soon subside and Gwen and Blake can have their highly anticipated wedding.
