    Top 3 Most Memorable 2020 VMAs Moments

    The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards had a successful show despite the pandemic. It took place last Sunday, August 30, with tons of performances from famous artists.

    Lady Gaga went home with the most number of awards with five trophies including the prestigious first-ever Tricon Award. Mother Monster and Ariana Grande were also awarded three Moon Persons for their collab, “Rain on Me”. K-pop group BTS followed closely with four awards including Best Pop and Best Group. Meanwhile, The Weeknd got the highly coveted Video of the Year Award as well as Best R&B. Further, Push Best New Artist went to Doja Cat.

    The 2020 VMAs is different this year due to the pandemic but viewers still got to enjoy the elements they’ve grown to love in this award show over the years. The pre-show was star-studded, the performances were amazing, and the speeches from the winners were inspiring. As usual, the red carpet fashion was spectacular. Overall, the 2020 VMAs reaped 40.1 million interactions on social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

    Chadwick Boseman was Remembered

    Keke Palmer opened the award show by dedicating it to Chadwick Boseman who passed away recently because of cancer. Palmer referred to the Black Panther star as a true inspiration to all his fans and the people he encountered.  She also said that he was a true hero in everything he did.

    MTV also showed a clip of Boseman when he received his award for Best Hero during the 2018 MTV Movie and & TV Awards.

    Host Keke Palmer Calls to End Systemic Racism

    Palmer delivered an impactful opening speech by calling an end to systemic racism. She said enough is enough and urged people to continue the fight. According to her, now is the time for people to be the change they want to see and encouraged everybody to come together and that music has that power to do so. Music can help in the healing process.

    Lady Gaga Made History as the First-Ever Tricon Awardee

    The Chromatica singer went down in history as the first-ever recipient of the prestigious Tricon Award which honored her contribution in the world of music, fashion, and philanthropy. According to the Rain on Me singer, she wanted to share her award to everybody at home who are their own version of a Tricon.
