Kimye no more.
E! News confirmed the news on Friday, February 19. According to the outlet, they agreed on joint custody for their four children namely North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Also neither the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star or the rapper is contesting their prenup, based on a source close to Kim.
The insider exclusively informed E! News that their split is very amicable and also mentioned how the SKIMS founder is dealing with it. The source said, “Kim is doing. She’s mostly worried about her privacy and kids. She’s a mama bear and protective of her kids.”
Last month, news broke that the famous couple was having marriage problems and attended counselling. But what made the reality star file for divorce?
The source explained, “Kim was just tired of waiting. She tried to give it a chance. She wanted to do this last year. She gave it plenty of time but it’s just time to move on.” One of the rumors that surrounded the couple was the involvement of Jeffree Star. The source confirmed, “There were no affairs. No one did anything bad. They grew apart.”
Further, the source said that the couple is committed to co-parenting though Kanye “hasn’t been around much”. Their four children stay with Kim at their home in Calabasas, California.
The source added, “North has some understanding of what’s going on. But mostly the kids have always seen them apart so it isn’t super surprising.”
The 43-year-old Yeezy founder has been living in Wyoming. Kim talked about his bipolar disorder diagnosis last summer; the source claimed that the rapper is okay right now.
Meanwhile, a separate source told E! News, “Kim expressed to [the kids] that she loves their Dad but they need to be apart. They don’t fully understand what’s going on and are already used to the situation.”
This source noted that Kim is sad but confident in her decision to divorce her husband because “it’s what’s best for her and her family”. In fact, she already feels like she’s divorced for months now. The source shared, “It’s been a long time coming and she feels relieved to be able to finally move on.”
