Gigi Hadid proved that she’s as chic as ever and motherhood suits her perfectly.
The supermodel was photographed on Monday, March 1, during the Milan Fashion Week, exploring the city. The 25-year-old’s outfit paid tribute to her and Zayn Malik’s daughter, Khai.
She was wearing a necklace adorned with sparkly diamonds with her baby’s moniker. Not only that but she added a gold chain necklace with an evil eye pendant to complete her accessories. In fact, the necklaces were a real scene-stealer as she wore very simple clothes that day. She had on a charcoal-colored striped blazer over a black button-down cardigan and paired them with two-tone denim jeans. She completed her look with a multicolored beanie and an orange clutch bag.
Gigi never showed her baby’s face but she did share her name recently. Khai is a very unique name but her dad explained the meaning behind it. He said that his mom’s name was Kahiria Daher Hadid. He took to Instagram to explain, “My Mom (Allah Yerhamha ) Khairia Daher Hadid would have been so proud of @gigihadid today.”
He also posted a photo of his mom. He added, “Gigi loved everything about Tata. GiGi won first place in an art competition of a portrait of her Tata. This picture was taking 1955 in Beirut. She was a stunner Great Mom a wife a Tata to thirty or so Grandkids. We and I miss her every time I breath. Look down from above. Saying happy early birthday GIGi. You make me proud.”
Gigi and Zayn welcomed their daughter in September 2020. They also shared snippets of their parenthood journey on social media. The new mom shared her birthing experience on the March cover issue of Vogue and mentioned that she spent 14 hours in labor.
When the time finally came for her to give birth, her boyfriend, Zayn, was there together with her sister Bella Hadid and mom Yolanda Hadid. Meanwhile, a midwife and her assistant were also present during her home birth.
According to her, Zayn caught the baby. She shared, “It didn’t even click that she was out. I was so exhausted, and I looked up and he’s holding her. It was so cute.”
Gigi admitted, “I knew it was going to be the craziest pain in my life, but you have to surrender to it and be like, ‘This is what it is.’ I loved that.”
She immediately embraced her new role as a mom but she also started modeling again after giving birth.
She said, “I know that I’m not as small as I was before, but I also am a very realistic thinker. I straight up was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll shoot a Vogue cover, but I’m obviously not going to be a size 0,’ nor do I, at this point, feel like I need to be back to that. I also think it’s a blessing of this time in fashion that anyone who says that I have to be that can suck it.”
