The 2021 Grammy Awards is finally over but just like in the previous years, historic and most memorable moments have been made. After all, this year’s Grammy is controversial in its own way. It was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and there were disappointed artists who didn’t make it to the list of nominees among others.

Read on to find out the most epic happenings at this year’s Grammy:

    Beyoncé made history

She proved once again that she’s not Queen Bey for nothing. At first, she was surprised when Trevor Noah mentioned that she was tied with Alison Krauss for winning the most Grammys ever won by a female artist after she and Megan Thee Stallion bagged the award for Best Rap Song for “Savage”.

However, a few moments later she won Best R&B Performance for her song “Black Parade”. This made her the all-time leading singer with a total of 28 Grammy wins. Further, she is tied at second place with producer Quincy Jones for second-most wins at the Grammy.

But it didn’t stop there. Queen Bey is also the most nominated female artist of the award-giving body with a total of 79 nods. She shares the post with Paul McCartney. The top spot are Jay-Z and Jones with a total of 80 nominations.

    Taylor Swift also made history

Taylor Swift delivered an amazing Grammys performance as she sang “cardigan”, “august”, and “willow” with the rustic yet charming cabin setting as her backdrop. She won Album of the year for folklore and this made her the only female solo artist to have won three Album of the Year awards. Fearless and 1989 were her first two wins.

Billie Eilish dedicated Record of the Year award to Megan Thee Stallion

The last award of the night, Record of the Year, went to Billie Eilish for “Everything I Wanted”. She said during her speech, “This is really embarrassing for me. “Megan, girl…I was gonna write a speech about how you deserve this, but then I was like, ‘There’s no way they’re gonna choose me. I was like, ‘It’s hers!’ YOu deserve this. You had a year that I think is untoppable. You are a queen. I want to cry thinking about how much I love you. You are so beautiful. You’re so talented. You deserve everything in the world. I think about you constantly, I root for you always. You deserve it, honestly. Genuinely, this goes to her–can we just cheer for Megan Thee Stallion, please?”

There are other momentous events that happened throughout the conduct of the 2021 Grammy Awards. The artists who were lost by the music industry the previous year were honored, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were fashionable late while their daughter Blue Ivy won her first Grammy, and Harry Styles also won his first Grammy for “Watermelon Sugar”, and many more.
