The Bachelor Matt James is far from finding his one true love.
The 29-year-old lead announced during The Bachelor finale on Monday, March 15, that he and Rachael Kirkconnell decided to split after they left the set.
He reflected on how their first few days together after the Bachelor felt like an extended honeymoon period. However, he saw her racially insensitive pics on social media and reconsidered the way he viewed her. He said, “You wanna believe that you know your person better than anybody else knows your person. He added, “This controversy swirling around who Rachael is and events she might’ve attended, pictures that she liked and people that she’s associated with.”

Matt explained, “Before Rachael addressed anything or Chris Harrison spoke on anything, I’m trying to be there for her, and I dismissed them as rumors, because that’s what they were to me. You hear things that are heartbreaking and you just pray they’re not true. And then, when you find out that they are it just makes you question everything.”
Meanwhile, Rachael confirmed she has more to earn about racial equality but then Matt realized, “I wasn’t okay because it was in that moment and the conversation that I had that—Rachael might not understand what it means to be Black in America.”
It was then that he finally decided to put an end to their relationship. He could no longer move forward with her and accepted it was time to say goodbye.
It was obvious through the Bachelor season that Matt and Rachael had a bond. He even confessed about falling in love with her.
About a month ago, Rachael as under fire for her social media behavior in the past and also the scandal with Chris Harrison’s remarks regarding her.
In February 11, she said “I didn’t recognize how offensive and racist my actions were, but that doesn’t excuse them. My age or when it happened does not excuse anything. They are not acceptable or okay in any sense. I was ignorant, but my ignorance was racist.”
On the other hand, Chris wrote on February 13, “I have spent the last few days listening to the pain my words have caused, and I am deeply remorseful. My ignorance did damage to my friends, colleagues and strangers alike. I have no one to blame but myself for what I said and the way I spoke.”
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Acho has replaced him.
As reported earlier, on March 12, multiple sources reported that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez finally ended their engagement.
