Alex Rodriguez is making it up to Jennifer Lopez in the Dominican Republic.
The former MLB star flew to the Dominican Republic where J.Lo is presently filming her latest project, Shotgun Wedding. A.Rod joined her in the tropics on Sunday, March 14, after their rumoured split on Friday.
He took to Instagram to post a resort pic with the caption, “Happy Monday. New week. New day. Onward. Upward.” The 45-year-old also tagged the 51-year-old actress.
A source told E! News that the two found it difficult being apart while she was filming outside the country. “They haven’t had a situation come up like this and it’s been hard on the relationship,” the source said.
On Friday, March 12, multiple outlets were quick to report that the power couple had broken off their engagement after rumors about Alex having an affair with Madison LeCroy surfaced. However, the two never met and Madison herself confirmed they’d never met each other in person.
Meanwhile, the couple addressed the rumors by releasing a joint statement on Saturday which stated, “All the reports are inaccurate… We are working through some things.” There was no third party involved in their recent problem.
The insider confirmed that there’s still hope for the couple saying, “They are trying to figure things out. He absolutely does not want to split up and has made many promises to try and keep her.”
The source also revealed, “He flew out to be with her and to prove to her how serious he is. They don’t know what’s going to happen. Untangling their lives, business dealings and families would be devastating to everyone involved.”
However, a separate source told the outlet that Jennifer is a strong woman who is focused on her work. The source explained that the actress wants to “get through filming before they figure out the next steps. She wants to give him a chance to make it right and really does love him.”
The couple shares four children from their previous marriages. They started dating in 2017 and in 2019 they announced their engagement. They were supposed to tie the knot last year but they postponed it because of the coronavirus pandemic.
