Megan Thee Stallion wants to use her voice to amplify causes that she cares about. That’s why she partnered with Fashion Nova to donate $1 million to women, including those who are enrolled at Texas Southern University where she’s taking up a degree in health administration.
Presently, the donations cover $100,000 to the Breonna Taylor Foundation and $50,000 to Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta. A scholarship worth $25,000 was also given to students taking pharmacy and health services at TSU.
Meg is just like other college students out there when she’s not busy entertaining an audience. She told E! News, “I have been working so hard for these papers! I have always dreamt of opening an elder care facility to help the elderly. I can’t wait to get with my classmates and put everyone to work helping our grandparents.”
So how does she juggle school and being a singer? She shared, “I juggle it all with my great team, and I have really great time management. It is also really important to take time for what is important.” The 26-year-old will be graduating this fall.
She is a pro at time management. Her song, “Savage” made the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last May and she eventually became famous in TikTok. The same song also paved the way for her to win two Grammy awards namely Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Meanwhile, Meg isn’t the only star who’s taking part in the Women on Top initiative. Lauren London, model and actress, also joined her. She recently appeared in Always and Forever, Games People Play and The Perfect Match.
Lauren used to date rapper Nipsey Hussle. He died in 2019 and to honor his two-year death anniversary on March 31, she’ll be donating with Fashion Nova, $50,000 to The Dreamers Youth Foundation which is the brain child of the rapper’s sister, Samantha Smith.
Lauren told E! News, “As women, we have a duty to honor and support our sisters. I’m inspired by my sister Samantha, her healing spirit, her poise and her strength in the face of it all.”
The 36-year-old actress shared that the foundation means so much to her because she knows, “how much good she is putting back into the world through mentorship and community empowerment.”
