It was only recently when pop superstar Demi Lovato released her documentary and now she just released on Friday, April 2, her music video for her highly anticipated single, Dancing With the Devil.

The 28-year-old singer also dropped her latest album on the same day, Dancing With The Devil… The Art of Starting Over. As expected, her music video is anything but ordinary. It showcased a dramatized version of what really happened when she suffered from real-life drug overdose and also the time she was at the hospital.

The video started with Demi dressed in a white hospital gown in a hospital bed with several tubes hooked up on her. After that, the scene went back to the time earlier in the night while she drank several drinks. The scene went on to when someone finally found her unresponsive at home. At the end of the video, the camera was focused on her real-life tattoo on her neck with the word “survivor”.

The emotional music video was co-directed by Demi herself and there was a line on the screen at the end of the video that stated, “A true story by Demi Lovato.”

The singer posted on Instagram, “#DancingWithTheDevil music video is out now. Thank you for listening, and thank you for hearing me. If you or someone you know is in need of support, please remember it’s ok to ask for help.”

Her latest single has the same name as her famous YouTube documentary series which was released in March. It talked about her relapse in 2018 and the opiod overdose she suffered on that same year which almost killed her.

The song has some very powerful lyrics, with the first few lines stating, “It’s just a little white line, I’ll be fine / But soon that little white line is a little glass pipe / Tin foil remedy, almost got the best of me / I keep prayin’ I don’t reach the end of my lifetime, mmm.”

As for the chorus, the lines are, “I was dancing with the devil / Out of control / Almost made it to heaven / It was closer than you know / Playing with the enemy / Gambling with my soul / It’s so hard to say no / When you’re dancing with the devil.”
