Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez finally ended their relationship.
The two issued a statement on Thursday, April 15, stating, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so… We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.”

J.Lo and A.Rod first sparked breakup rumors a month ago after they’re been fighting and losing their trust in each other for months. That time, they confirmed that their relationship was far from over. The former Yankees athlete even joined Jennifer in the Dominican Republic where she’s presently filming her latest movie.
As much as Rodriguez wanted to reconcile, it seemed that Jennifer has already made up her mind. A source close to the 51-year-old actress told E! News that A.Rod knew that their split was coming because J.Lo hasn’t been happy for a while.
The insider added, “Once her trust is broken, there’s no turning around. She feels good about her decision because she knows A.Rod will still be in her life, just in a different capacity.”
They also made it clear before that their problems didn’t have anything to do with the rumors about Madison LeCroy. The source also mentioned that they’re “very cordial” towards each other that they will remain friends. The two have several business ventures together which will keep them connected. However, Jennifer won’t be seeing him at this time. She will also be staying in Los Angeles for a while.
On the other hand, A.Rod is hoping they’ll get back together. Another insider revealed, “He is respecting her wishes right now, but has high hopes they will get back together. He’s doing anything in his power to make J.Lo happy.”
As a matter of fact, he’d been trying to woo her these past few weeks. He flew to the Dominican Republic to spend the weekend with her. A source told E! News then, “He flew out to be with her and to prove to her how serious he is. They don’t know what’s going to happen. Untangling their lives, business dealings and families would be devastating to everyone involved.”
Jennifer and Alex started dating in 2017 and two years later they got engaged. That time, he put a million-dollar engagement ring on her finger. Throughout their four-year relationship, their children had gotten close to each other, too. Jennifer and ex-husband Marc Anthony share twins Emme and Max Muñiz, 13, while Alex and ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis share Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12.
