The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is very open about being a super fan of the hit Netflix series, especially before the show’s male star, Regé-Jean Page announced that he won’t be joining the said drama on Season 2.
So who spilled the news? It’s none other than Lady Whistledown herself, Nicola Coughlan, who also plays Penelope Featherington. She took to Twitter to reveal how much she as TV sisters are influenced by the Kardashian sisters themselves.
Niccola wrote, “As the world’s number one Bridgerton stan does Kim Kardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings? Because I feel like she should know this.”
It didn’t take long for Kim to respond with lots of exclamation marks. She responded, “WHAT?!?! I am freaking out!!!!!! This tweet was sent to me on my Bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!”
Nicole replied, “of course” adding, “Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!”
Kim was ecstatic. She answered, “OMG I’m gonna faint!!!!!! Does this make me an honorary Duchess in Bridgerton?!?!?!? I am the corset Queen!!!”
Nicola then confirmed that the reality TV star’s name is “Duchess Kardashian of Calabasas”, adding that Lady Whistledown declared her “the season’s true incomparable”. It wasn’t only Lady W who acknowledged her but also the Netflix Twitter account which responded to Kim’s request to join a fitting, stating, “I’ll see what I can do.”
Nicola further revealed that the Featherington sister often debate on which Kardashian sisters they are. Harriet Cains and Bessie Carter plays Phillipa and Prudence respectively in the hit TV series.
She wrote, “I think Prudence and Phillipa are very Kourtney and Khloe cos they’re besties. And Pen is a very successful business woman, also I remember Kim being like a very good detective too so there’s that…”
