Zendaya never fails to impress fans and fellow celebrities with her show-stopping red carpet looks. So when she showed up wearing an eye-catching canary yellow dress and lots of diamonds, it was no surprise that her Oscars look was definitely one of the most unforgettable ever.
The 24-year-old actress was one of the presenters during the Academy Awards on Sunday, April 25, in Los Angeles. She wore a strapless Valentino gown with a stomach cut-out which showed off her flattering waist and a matching face mask. She paired the dress with peep-toe Jimmy Choo platforms.
But what made people’s head turn was the Bulgari jewels she was wearing. She wore more than 183 carats of yellow diamond from the brand’s Magnifica collection which they’ll be launching in summer. The accessory included a brooch and tassel collar necklace, pear-cut yellow diamond drop earrings, an emerald-cut diamond ring, and a 30-carat yellow diamond ring. The jewels reportedly cost over $6 million.
Roach told PEOPLE, “The Bulgari jewelry takes the look to a whole place that we weren’t expecting. The jewelry is the star of the look. It feels cool, modern, young and really quite beautiful.”
“It’s a really glamorous, boho chic look,” he added. “She’s a fashion girl and after so many looks together, we have this unquestionable trust. We like to have fun with fashion and create looks that people will talk about.”
Zendaya is not only known for her excellent acting skills and fashionable style but also an advocate for women. She was awarded the SeeHer Award at the 2021 Critics Choice Awards to honor her accurate portrayals of women and girls in the field of media and advertising.
During her acceptance speech, she said, “This means so much to me. I think as I was thinking of things to say, the only real thing I can think of is gratitude. This word kind of keeps coming to my mind, especially with the year everyone has had. To continue to be grateful for every single moment, big and small. To be grateful for the people in our world and in our life that make the work we do possible. To continue to make sure we hold onto our loved ones a little bit tighter, and make sure we call them, acknowledge them, tell them we love them. And take in moments like this.”
