JoJo Siwa learned the hard way how painful and sad it is to be in a long-distance relationship.
The celebrity had to temporarily say goodbye to her girlfriend, Kylie Prew. The 17-year-old Time 100 honoree shared a teary selfie on Instagram Stories on Monday, April 26. She posted the photo with the caption, “I. Don’t. Like. Saying. Goodbye.”
Afterwards, she posted a video explaining to her over 10 million followers the reason behind her tears She explained, “Nothing happened, we’re just long-distance, and we had to say goodbye today.”
“And I’m sad,” she added. “It happens every time we say goodbye, and I wish we didn’t have to, ever. But we do, and it just makes when we say hi to each other even more special.”
“I’m going to go keep doing this [crying] for a lot longer,” she continued. “But I just wanted to come in here because I knew you all were panicking for a second. But no need to panic, [it’s just] the reality of long-distance. It’s very, very, very hard, but it’s the most worth it ever.”
The couples spent their time together by going to Walt Disney World. A recent photo on Instagram proved that they were both wearing matching Toy Story merch. She captioned it, “I love you to infinity and beyond.”
The Dance Mom alum and her girlfriend made their relationship Instagram official in February when they celebrated their one-month anniversary. It came only a few days after she revealed that she’s part of the LGBTQ community.
JoJo talked with PEOPLE about their relationship. According to her, they met on a cruise ship. She recalled, “I told her my whole spiel that I tell everyone when they ask me my life story. She goes, ‘I could have Googled that. I want to know your life story. You just told me about your career. I want to know about you,’ “she continued. “And I was like, ‘No one’s ever asked me that before.’ ”
JoJo hasn’t labelled her sexual orientation yet but she did share a joke about it. She said, “I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual.”
