Anna Paquin is bisexual and she’s proud of it. In fat, she’s happily married to a man for more than a decade.
The award-winning actress took to Instagram on Tuesday, May 18, to share a powerful message regarding her sexuality in line with the celebration of the Pride Month 2021 starting this June.
Her post also included a special tribute to her better half, Stephen Moyer, in addition to several other messages she shared in response to online trolls. She posted, “I’m a #proudbisexual who is married to a wonderful human who happens to be a man.”
In the caption, the Oscar winner added, “If he doesn’t have a problem with it why should anyone else?” She also included some hashtags such as #loveislove and #bipride to emphasize her point, especially to those who are trying to question her sexuality.
Around an hour earlier, the 38-year-old actress posted, “FYI (for those unaware) June is LGBTQIA+ pride month. So the folks who put their bigotry on display in the comment sections of my recent posts why don’t you hit that unfollow button right now.”
And for her caption on that post, she wrote, “…and go f–k yourselves.” Anna seems to be referring to the comments on her post last May 17 in line with the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia where she received some disturbing comments, especially from online trolls.
The actress first opened up about being bisexual in 2010 PSA during the Give a Damn campaign. She married her True Blood co-star last August 2010.
Meanwhile, she tweeted a similar message in June 2014 which read, “Proud to be a happily married bisexual mother. Marriage is about love not gender.”
Anna was also interviewed by the late iconic host, Larry King, in August 2014. He asked if she is a “non-practicing bisexual” because she married Stephen who happens to be a man. To this, the actress answered, “I am married to my husband, and we are happily, monogamously married.”
Larry king then followed up with another question asking her, “But you were bisexual?” She explained, “Well, I don’t think it’s a past-tense thing. … It doesn’t really work like that.”
As reported earlier, Jojo Siwa cried after saying goodbye to her girlfriend.
