Ashton Kutcher’s dream of going into outer space will remain a dream after his wife Mila Kunis convinced him not to go.
During an interview with Cheddar News, the actor revealed that although he already has a ticket to fly with the Virgin Galactic ship, the actress made him think twice about it.
He said, “When I got married and had kids, my wife basically encouraged that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children. So, I ended up selling my ticket back to Virgin Galactic. I was supposed to be on the next flight, but I will not be on the next flight.”
The supposed “next flight” follows Richard Branson, billionaire and founder of Virgin Galactic, after going on a trip onboard the spaceship together with his five team members. Though he may not be flying to space for now, he added, “But at some point, I will be going to space.”
Ashton already bought the ticket in 2012, three years before he and Mila tied the knot. They have two children namely Wyatt, 6, and Dimitri, 4, which made him question his decision as well.
This isn’t the first time that Mila has given her husband some useful advice which he actually listened to. In April, she recalled advising Ashton about his business ventures. She shared, “The best part about him is he is really smart about including me in everything and making sure that I am aware of everything that is happening. He is also really smart at knowing that, sometimes, you shouldn’t listen to your wife.”
She added, “Early in our dating, two things came up. He was like, ‘Hey, there’s this company, it’s kind of like a ride share…kind of like a cab company, but anybody can drive the cab. I was like, ‘That’s the worst idea ever.'” At that time, Ashton was referring to Uber, which eventually became a mega-company. He also mentioned Bitcoin which she said then, “Well, I think this is a horrible idea.”
Fortunately, the actor didn’t listen to her and ended up investing. It turned out that these two became successful investments and served as proof that sometimes, you shouldn’t listen to your wife.
