Britney Spears has her lucky stars to thank after a judge finally approved her request to hire a private attorney of her choice. This is the first time she was granted such a request since her conservatorship started 13 years ago.

The 39-year-old singer decided to hire Matthew Rosengart, former federal prosecutor, who is also popular among celebrities in Hollywood. This latest development gave the singer hope and a positive outlook towards gaining her freedom.

Hours before the hearing, Britney shared a video of herself doing cartwheels and suggesting that her conservatorship battle is “coming along”. She wrote, “New with real representation today … I feel GRATITUDE and BLESSED !!!!”

She also added to her post the hashtag, #FreeBritney, and thanked her 30 million followers as well. She shared, “Thank you to my fans who are supporting me … You have no idea what it means to me be supported by such awesome fans !!!! God bless you all.”

Moreover, the multi-awarded singer opened up at the hearing this week expressing that she’s scared of her dad Jamie Spear. He also became the sole conservator of Britney’s estate after Bessemer Trust, the co-conservator, resigned.

Britney told the court “I’m here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse. I want him investigated…This conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life.”

On the other hand, Jamie’s attorney, Vivian Lee Thoreen, told the court that the singer’s testimony has “misstatements”. Also, her client filed a petition for the court to investigate Britney’s allegations against him during her testimony last June 23 saying he’s “concerned about the management and care of his daughter.” He has no idea of her personal or medical affairs since 2019 when Jodi Montgomery became the temporary conservator of her person.

Meanwhile, the judge granted the extension of Jodi’s role up to October this year. Britney mentioned that in case she couldn’t end her conservatorship yet, Jodi will remain onboard provided her dad is removed. Jodi’s lawyer assured her that she’ll continue to work with the singer and would support her.

On the other hand, Vivian shared in June, “Mr. Spears is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr. Spears loves his daughter and misses her very much.”

Britney’s next hearing is scheduled for September 29.
