Chrissy Teigen has a reason to celebrate and that’s because she’s been sober for the last 50 days.
The cookbook author took to Instagram on Saturday to share the good news. She wrote, “it should be nearly a year but I had a few (wine) hiccups in the road.” She added a video of herself with her kids Luna and Miles to her post.
The 35-year-old model shared, “this is my longest streak yet!”
She also explained that drinking doesn’t serve her in “any way” anymore but she admitted that she’s still uncertain if she’ll quit drinking forever.
According to her, “I don’t get more fun, I don’t dance, I don’t get relaxed. I get sick, fall asleep and wake up sick, having missed what was probably a fun night.”
The mother of two revealed in December last year she had been sober for around a month and that she was also finished with “embarrassing” herself such as not being able to get a good sleep because of alcohol.
One of the things that inspired her into sobering up is the book “Quit Like a Woman: The Radical Choice to Not Drink in a Culture Obsessed with Alcohol” written by Holly Whitaker.
She shared that time, “One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend. I have been sober ever since and even if you can’t see yourself doing it or just plain don’t want to, it is still an incredible read.”
This year hasn’t been so great for Teigen. For once, model Courtney Stodden called her out last May for cyberbullying her on social media last 2011. According to the model, the “Cravings” author sent her private messages including one that said, “I can’t wait for you to die.”
Teigen has been famous for her social media accounts. She apologized before taking a break from Instagram and Twitter. A month later, she issued another apology by writing, “Not a day, not a single moment has passed where I haven’t felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I’ve said in the past.”
She also vowed to never get involved in other people’s lives and talked about joining the “cancel club”.
