Brian Austin Green has sworn off joining Dancing With the Stars but it seems like he has changed his mind.
Many fans assumed it was because of his girlfriend, Sharna Burgess, who is one of the show’s professional dancers, but it seemed he has other reasons. In fact, the project came as a big surprise for the Beverly Hills 90210 actor.
He shared exclusively with Erin Lim Rhodes of E! News, “We actually talked early on when we were dating about this not happening. We were like, this is never happening. We used to laugh and joke about this never happening. When it came around this season, and we sort of talked about it, it just seemed like, ‘Why not?’ It is a chance to do something that entertains a lot of people that watch it. It’s something that a lot of people have been wanting me to do for years.”
He continued, “I could be super disappointing. Most likely, I will be disappointing to a lot of people.”
So who’s his dancing partner? Well, he’s not ready to reveal the person just yet, though many are speculating and hoping to have a real-life couple competing in the show.
He talked about the advantages of living with a pro dancer. He shared, “I don’t think I am going to get extra practice in. I don’t think I am going to have time for extra practice. The practice schedule gets pretty rigorous here, but I can get really good pointers. I can at least have someone who is in my corner and wants me to enjoy it overall but be the best I can possibly be.”
The new cast of Dancing With the Stars season 30 was already introduced to the public with familiar faces including Suni Lee, Olympic gymnast, and Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa. Both confirmed their participation ahead of the announcement.
Another familiar face is Matt James of Bachelor Nation and Olivia Jade who became controversial after the college admissions scandal that rocked her family. She told E! News, “I hope people see that I’m genuinely excited and grateful and I hope people also see that I’m willing to work hard, especially at stuff I really love. I just love putting my all into it. So hopefully that resonates with people. I’m just taking it day by day.”
