YouTube star Lloyd Café Cadena passed away on September 4 but it was only recently when his family revealed the cause of his death.
The social media personality’s family issued a statement on Facebook on Sunday, September 6, revealing the cause of his death. Based on the statement, his family thanked Cadena’s millions of fans and followers for their support. According to them, there are no words to express their heartfelt thanks for the prayers and sympathy that they have extended to their family during this difficult time.
With regard to the cause of his death, the family revealed that Cadena was confined in a hospital on September 1 after suffering from high fever and dry cough. They added that he was tested for COVID-19 on that same day. The result of his test came on September 3 and he was positive for the virus. One the result of his swab test was out, his family and BNT isolated themselves immediately. They recalled that his vitals were fine and he had no complaints.
However, there was a sudden turn of events. On September 4, at 5am, a staff saw him and he was unresponsive and looked pale. According to the doctor, Cadena had a heart attack while he was sleeping. His body was cremated and his remains is in their house in Cavite for the meantime.
To end their statement, the family mentioned that “all expressions of sympathy, including flowers and cards, are welcome” and people can send them to the “Immaculate Conception Chapel – Kaingin.”
The YouTube star’s death was announced on September 4, only a few weeks before he was supposed to celebrate his 27th birthday. His family announced it through another Facebook post which read, “It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the untimely demise of our beloved brother Lloyd Cafe Cadena. May he be remembered for all the joy and laughter he shared with everyone. My family and I ask for your prayers, respect, and privacy during this time.”
Lloyd Café Cadena became an internet sensation especially in the Philippines where he was able to gain millions of followers for his YouTube videos. He kept his followers up to date with his “LC Learns” series. Fans also looked forward to his unboxing videos to his collabs and covers.
Aside from being a YouTuber, Cadena was also an author and radio DJ. He was beloved for his big heart as evident in his charity works. He donated relief goods for those affected by calamities and the pandemic in the Philippines. One of his last videos showed the reason why he decided to buy a house for his mom. Another showed him giving away free tablets to poor students so they could attend their online classes.
Many YouTubers and celebrities mourned Cadena’s death and showered him with tributes on social media. One of them is Andi Manzano Reyes, a radio DJ and vlogger, who took to Facebook to express that Cadena made many people happy and touched their lives including his.
Another content creator, Ivana Alawi, also accepted Cadena’s last car wash challenge and washed a bus all by herself. Proceeds from her video will be given to Lloyd Cadena’s family.
