Sarah Jessica Parker is grieving over losing a dear friend and Sex and the City co-star, Willie Garson.

Willie’s son, Nathen, announced his death on Instagram on Tuesday, September 21. He wrote, “I love you so much papa. Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own.”

He added, “You’ll always be with me. Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now. You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known. I’m glad you shared [your] love with me. I’ll never forget it or lose it.”

Following the announcement, many of the actor’s co-stars and friends offered their tributes. One of them was Chris Noth who posted a photo on Instagram of Sarah and Willie and captioned it, “Willie”.

Sarah commented, “Thank you dearest Chris. I’m not ready yet. Xxx.”

In the famous HBO series, Willie played Stanford Blatch, the best friend of Carri Bradshaw’s character. He reprised the said role in the Sex and the City revival spinoff entitled, And Just Like That.

Willie and Sarah’s friendship blossomed off-cam. He told Us Weekly in June that they’ve been friends for 10 years before the show. He added, “We talk almost every day.”

Other celebrities also expressed their grief and tribute to the 57-year-old actor. For instance, Kristin Davis grieved also for Willie’s adopted son, Nathen, 20. She’s a single parent like Willie and she also have two adopted children which is why they bonded together. She shared, “We spoke about being single parents through adoption often. And nothing gave him more joy and pride than his son Nathen. Nathen’s strength and wisdom beyond his years are evident in his beautiful tribute to his dad.”

Hilarie Burton of One Tree Hill also promised to be there for Nathen. Together with her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, they promised to help him publish Willie’s memoir. She said, “It is a love letter to our industry, to storytelling and to the hundreds of people he worked with and made better over the decades. To Willie’s family, especially @nathen_garson…on my honor I will see it through. You have been so generous in sharing him with the rest of us. Love you.”

Judging by the emotional tributes to Willie, there’s no shortage of people who will be there for Nathen as he mourns the loss of his father, who the 20-year-old described as the “toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known.”
