Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have maintained their close friendship by supporting each other but if you’re one of those hoping that the two will get back together, then you’re wrong. The divorce, which Kim filed for in February, is still on. In fact, she just scored a win after being awarded their Hidden Hills estate.
TMZ reported based on court documents filed on October 12, the two “negotiated a buyout price” for the $60 million home they once shared. The outlet also mentioned that the negotiations between the two were cordial.
Their Hidden Hills estate has been featured several times on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and presently this is where Kim and their four kids are staying since she filed for divorce. The two celebs bought it in 2014 for $20 million and had renovated in 2019. The former couple share a passion for home design and renovations.
According to an interview with Architectural Digest, Kim revealed, “I really didn’t know anything about furniture before I met Kanye, but being with him has been an extraordinary education. I take real pride now in knowing what we have and why it’s important.”
The Donda rapper sought help from Axel Vervoordt, top Belgian designer and tastemaker, to help them renovate their estate. Kim mentioned that she and her former husband have the same tastes but she was more logistics-minded between them as far as redesigning their home is concerned.
She shared, “The one thing Kanye and I had in common was our preference for a neutral palette. I love the simplicity of the design. Everything in the outside world is so chaotic. I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness. Kanye would come up with the most far-out ideas, and I’d say, ‘This is not normal. We need drawers!’ I was the voice of functionality.”- Advertisement -
Kim’s property win took place after the Yeezy founder listed his Monster Lake Ranch in Cody, Wyoming for $11 million on October 11. Meanwhile, Kanye still has another bigger property under his name.
Kim and Kanye are in a happy place after they decided to separate earlier this year. Their main priority is co-parenting their four children. They’ve been very supportive towards each other, too. Kim attended his Donda listening parties while he helped her with her Saturday Night Live hosting.
