Britney Spears is closer to winning her conservatorship battle but how’s her relationship with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears?
A source told E! News that the 39-year-old singer feels “totally abandoned” by her younger sister. This came after Jamie Lynn’s announcement this week that she’s finished writing her book, a memoir about her personal life.
The source shared, “Britney is very, very angry and hurt. She feels like Jamie Lynn totally abandoned her and let her down in the fight of her life. They were best friends and everything to each other for so long.”
The source added, “She asked for support, and feels like Jamie Lynn turned her back on her and couldn’t be bothered.”
Jamie Lynn took to Instagram on October 11 to share that she was done writing her book, Things I Should Have Said, which will be published in January next year. The 30-year-old shared, “I felt a strong conviction to share my story, but there was a lot of personal work and healing that had to happen before I could share my truth the proper way.”
Less than 24 hours later, Britney shaded her sister by joking on her Instagram, “I’m thinking of releasing a book next year. But I’m having issues coming up with a title so maybe my fans could help!!!!”
“Option#1 … ‘S—t, I really don’t know’ Option #2 … ‘I really care what people think’!!! What do you guys think????”
After which, Jamie Lynnreceived backlash from her sister’s fans and so she decided to change the title of her book from “I Must Confess” — which is obviously a lyric taken from the singer’s debut single, “…Baby One More Time” — to “Things I Should Have Said”.
This isn’t the first time that Britney used social media to express her feelings about being betrayed by those close to her. She also posted on Instagram in July, “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support.”
She also posted, “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!!”
