Adele has dropped her latest single, “Easy on Me”, from her much-awaited new album, 30, which will be released on November 19.
The Rolling in the Deep singer referred to her latest album as her “divorce” album following her split from former husband, Simon Konecki, with whom she shares an 8-year-old son Angelo.
Two weeks ago the multi-awarded singer teased about dropping her single, “Easy on Me”, through an Instagram video. It’s her first single in her fourth album, 30, which refers to her age when she started recording the songs. For fans of Adele, this didn’t come as a surprise because her album titles follow a pattern. She released 19 in 2008 and 21 in 2011. Her last one was 25 in 2015.
In addition to the video, the 33-year-old singer started dropping hints about her new album earlier this October. For instance, many social media users noticed “30” on billboards in many parts of the world.
The singer and Simon decided to call it quits in April 2019 and many fans speculated that her next songs will be about heartbreak and they were right. Adele wrote on her 31st birthday in May 2019, “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all. Bunch of f–king savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you. Chin up eh.”
Adele is now in a relationship with Rich Paul, a sports agent, whom she started dating in August. She recently made headlines, too after her epic body transformation.
So how does she feel about writing 30 amid her divorce? The singer claimed that working on her new album helped her to move on from pain. She wrote, “I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life.”
In addition to being her “divorce” album, Adele also refers to 30 as her “ride or die”. It will be released on November 19.
