    Kim Kardashian’s Skims Brand Collaborates with Fendi

    Kim Kardashian announced on Instagram on Monday, October 25, that her Skims brand is collaborating with none other than Fendi.

    The 41-year-old reality star shared photos of modeling designs from the collaboration which includes a pair of sheer pantyhose and a matching bra. According to WSJ Magazine, there will also be tops and dresses as well as leggings and a puffer jacket aside from Skims’ signature body-hugging products.

    Kardashian said in a press release, “The innovation in fabrics and fit typical to Skims paired with the luxury and quality of Fendi may feel unexpected to some people, but the similarities between our creative vision and goals are so closely aligned. It’s that tension that excites me.”

    The business mogul worked with her friend, Kim Jones, who’s also the artistic director of Fendi womenswear in coming up with the designs that combine the brands’ aesthetics. There’s also a hybrid of their logos included.

    Jones mentioned that his team loves Skims. He recalled the time when the women in his office “went silent and started staring at their phones” at their office in Rome. He added, “I didn’t know what was going on, but they were waiting for the launch of the new Skims collection. It was then that I thought: let’s do something together.” 

    They discussed the line in December last year and Kim even met with Jones secretly in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a fitting that lasted for 10 hours. After the long wait, the collection will launch on November 9.

    Meanwhile, the designs are inspired by a Fendi collection presented by Karl Lagerfeld which features “twisted tube tops, pop colors and tight sashes” with touches of Skims’ fit and form. There’s a wide range of fabrics used in the collection, too.

    This isn’t the first time that the two brands collaborated with others in the industry. This fall, Fendi worked with Versace for their “Fendace” show in Milan. Meanwhile, Skims worked with the US Olympic team recently and launched campaigns featuring well-known personalities like Megan Fox, Kate Moss, and Kourtney Kardashian.

    Kardashian is also re-launching her KKW Beauty brands following her split from her estranged husband Kanye West. She said of the rapper, “He has a piece of Skims himself and gives [the team] inspiration but also information. I think he enjoys the process. Kanye will always be the most inspirational person to me.”
