The couple announced their engagement only two months ago but many fans are speculating that they’ve already tied the knot. The lovey-doveys went on a vacation to celebrate the pop star’s 40th birthday and when fans noticed Sam’s post referring to her as his “wife”, many are speculating that they got married without the public knowing about it.
Based on his Instagram post on Wednesday, December 1, he captioned their photos, “I call you Lioness because I admire your relentless strength, I’m inspired by your beautiful heart, I celebrate your smile that lights up my world.”
“Everyday is your birthday my queen,” he added. “Happy 1st birthday to my wife.”
He tagged Britney in his post but it was his reference to her as his “wife” which got everybody’s attention. One of the fans even commented, “wife???? Omg” while another asked, “wait did y’all get married??”
Britney cleared things once and for all by posting the same photos of the couple kissing and hugging while on a private jet on her Instagram page. This time, she referred to Sam as “my fiancé”.
She captioned her post, “Oh the precious joy today !!! Me and my fiancé are so excited to be going away.” She also clapped back at the photos taken by the paparazzi of her leaving a public restroom stating, “I’m not 800 pounds like the paps have me in pics.”
“I’ve been working out and it’s real … whatever,” she added. “God thank you for being able to go out of the country !!!! I am blessed !!!!”
Britney and Sam started dating in 2016 after meeting on the set of her music video for “Slumber Party”. They got engaged in September with Sam giving her a 4-carat diamond engagement ring from Forever Diamonds NY. The ring’s band also included an engraved that read, “Lioness”, Sam’s nickname for the singer.
Britney is excited to get married. She revealed last month that her wedding gown is being designed by Donatella Versace. As for the groom-to-be, he told Daily Pop, “It’s just surreal to live my life and live our life like this. We’re getting ready for a wedding, baby, so get ready.”
