Tristan Thompson has publicly apologized to Khloe Kardashian after it was confirmed that he indeed fathered a child with Maralee Nichols.
The basketball star admitted on January 3 that a paternity test has confirmed that he’s the father of Nichols’ newborn son following their sexual encounter during his birthday last March in Houston, Texas.
In line with this, Thompson issued a public apology to Kardashian who was his girlfriend during that time. They also share a three-year-old daughter, True.
So far, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reality star hasn’t publicly commented regarding his public apology and confession. Recently, she shared a pic on her Instagram Story showing her and daughter True having desserts together.
Sources told E! News how the Good American co-founder is keeping up with the matter and how she’s feeling about Tristan.
An insider shared, “She is still very upset and it’s been hard for her to accept this. After everything they have been through, he was still saying one thing and doing another. She knows she deserves so much better.”
The source added that the Kardashian-Jenner clan is “relieved that it seems she is finally ready to move on and let go.” As for Tristan, the source said, they “will continue to coparent and follow the custody schedule they have for True but that is it.”
Based on the NBA player’s court filings, he had sex with Maralee in March 2021 during his birthday. He said, “[She] and I attended a party together at a hotel in Houston. [She] had called me and wanted to be with me on my birthday. [Nichols] constantly used the term ‘hook up’ to describe our relationship which was the reality.”
It was in June when Thompson and Kardashian broke up again.
According to a second source, Kardashian is “very disappointed and hurt by him” and that she is “relieved to be done” at this point.
The second source explained, “Khloe is all about trust and loyalty. She feels disrespected. She’s ready to move on.”
Thompson posted his apology on his Instagram Story, writing, “You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.”
He added, “I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”
