Nicole Scherzinger finally responds and denies the allegations that she is to blame for the PCD’s reunion tour cancellation. The 43-year-old actress and lead singer of one of the 2000s hit girl groups filed against the founder and choreographer of The Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin (60) who is suing Scherzinger for refusing to participate in PCD’s reunion tour unless she is given complete creative control.
Furthermore, Scherzinger also denies the allegation that she breached a contract for the tour back in 2019. According to Scherzinger’s attorneys (Howard E. King and Stephen D. Rothschild), The X-Factor judge merely asked to negotiate new terms for the tour in 2021. They further added that Antin’s actions can be considered ‘meritless’, and that if Antin only participated in the negotiation instead of trying to enforce and revive an expired agreement, PCD would have agreed for another new tour.
In the meantime, Scherzinger’s lawsuit is accusing Antin of mismanagement for doing such defamatory efforts of shifting the blame to Scherzinger.
On the other hand, Antin’s attorney cited that Scherzinger pointed out the opportunities, her brands, as well as other things that she needs to give up to continue engaging with The Pussycat Dolls. They also added that Scherzinger is contractually obligated to be an active member, under the terms of the 2019 agreement.
The girl group announced their supposed awaited reunion tour back in July 2020 via Instagram post which churned excitement from fans and supporters all over the world. According to the PCD’s Instagram, the group was supposed to hit it off in Ireland and UK this coming May.
Scherzinger then announced the cancellation of tour dates on an Instagram post, pointing out the various things that are currently happening in the pandemic. However, two members of the PCD (Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta) came forward and expressed that they are yet to receive official notification for the cancellation of the tour.
Additionally, Sutta and Bachar expressed their grievances as they apologized to their fans and supporters by sharing a photo message on Instagram where they also mentioned how grateful they are for having them, and that the cancellation of the tour is also not the outcome that they are looking forward to.
The other members, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt have not yet made their public statement about the cancellation of PCD’s reunion tour.
