John Cena loves children but he has no plans yet to have his own

During his interview on The Drew Barrymore Show on January 17, the wrestler-turned-actor talked about working with the Make-a-Wish organization wherein he ranked as the topmost grantor of wishes with a total of 650.

Host Drew Barrymore couldn’t help but praise him for his kind-heartedness. She also mentioned that he’ll “make the world’s greatest father” but John, who tied the knot with Shay Shariatzadeh, revealed he’s not yet ready to have a child.

He said, “It’s hard work to balance the time I need to run myself correctly. It’s work to be the best partner and husband I can be to my loving wife. It’s hard to keep connections with those in my life that I love And it’s also hard to put in an honest days work.”

According to John, he believes that being good at something isn’t reason enough to do it. He explained, “You have to have passion for it. You have to have fuel for it. It’s like saying to someone, ‘Man, you know, you’re pretty good with your hands, you’d be a great carpenter,’ but if I want to be an actor, I’ll be an actor.’

The 44-year-old actor shared the fulfilment he feels when a child wants to meet him through the Make-a-Wish organization. He added, “I love that joy and I love that connection and that’s where I’m at right now. It is a difficult water to tread because everyone’s like ‘well, when,’ I just know not now.”

John was with Nikki Bella for six years before they decided to break off their engagement last May 2018. One of the reasons was because John refused to have kids.

However, based on his interview with The Sun, the actor shared he may be open to having kids in the future. After ruling out having kids, he has a change of heart regarding fatherhood after marrying Shay. He said, “I’m a little bit older, a bit wiser. I’m realizing there is life and life exists and it’s beautiful — and I think part of that is being a parent, so we’ll see.”
