Cardi B filed divorce from Offset on September 14 after three years of marriage.
The “WAP” artist’s legal team referred to their relationship as “irretrievably broken”. Aslo, they took note that there are no prospects for reconciliation. Further, the rapper requested legal custody of Kulture Kiari Cephus, their daughter who is now two years old.
At present, Cardi B is silent on why she decided to divorce Offset. Neither of them has spoken up about their divorce in public, too.
Their marriage seemed fine recently though Offset cheated on her during the first year of their marriage. In 2019, Cardi told People that she was doing her best to make their marriage work for the sake of their daughter. “It’s like, Honey, I’m not like you—I’m famous. I gotta consider who I’m dating, I gotta make sure people will have me for me. And I have a kid… We are a package. It’s not just Cardi, it’s Cardi and Kulture,” she explained.

The couple secretly got married at home on September 20, 2017, only a few months since they started dating. They found someone who married them and the only witness was her cousin. She later revealed she didn’t even have a wedding dress, make, or ring. However, Offset popped the question and presented her an 8-carat diamond ring during a sold out show. She said yes, of course!
In April 2018, Cardi announced they were expecting their first child and in June, they had a fairytale baby shower. Just like other expectant parents, the two were very excited and were counting the days. They didn’t have to wait long because on July 10, 2018 they welcomed Kulture Kiari Cephus.
However, in December 2018, Cardi announced that they have broken up. She explained on social media that they were no longer together. But shortly after she revealed their split, Offset took to Instagram and apologized to her for “partaking in activity that he shouldn’t be partaking in”. He didn’t stop there because a day later, Cardi performed at the Rolling Loud Festival in L.A. and he crashed it with a cake and an arrangement of white and red roses that spelled “Take Me Back Cardi”.
Though she was less than pleased with his gesture, she announced a month later that they’re working things out. During the 2019 Grammys, the couple was back together.
But it seemed their marriage isn’t working out anymore after three years of togetherness. On September 14 she filed for divorce and this time with no prospects for reconciliation.
