Batman beat coronavirus!
Two weeks ago, Robert Pattinson tested positive for coronavirus according to reports. On September 16, the 34-year-old actor was seen kissing his girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse, while sitting on a park bench in London.
The two lovebirds have been social distancing together. The Twilight actor was wearing blue athletic shorts and paired it with a dark sweatshirt and black sneakers. He also wore sunglasses and a baseball cap.
On the other hand, the 28-year-old model was wearing a gray shirt and black shorts. She also had with her a brown coat and her hair was swept up in a messy bun. They also had their face masks on which they pulled down as they shared a kiss.
The New York Times reported last September 3 that Pattinson tested positive for COVID-19. The report came after Warner Bros. confirmed through a statement that one of the members of The Batman production tested positive for coronavirus. The statement also mentioned that this member was isolating according to the established protocols. Because of this, they had to temporarily stop filming to ensure everybody’s safety.
On September 17, Pattinson returned to the set and they had resumed filming after being quarantined.
However, this is not the first time that they had to postpone the production. The first time it happened was in March because of the pandemic. During that time, the actor mentioned how he was looking forward to returning to his role as Batman.
In August, DC Comics hosted its FanDome event and Pattinson stated that they were already in the beginning stages of production when the pandemic started. He added that he was anxious to be working again and forming his character. He also said that he has always been a big fan of Batman.
The Batman will be the first standalone Batman film since the Dark Trilogy by Christopher Nolan who starred Christian Bale as the legendary caped crusader. As Batman, Pattinson will follow the footsteps of those who also played the iconic role including Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Adam West, Michael Keaton, and Ben Affleck who was supposed to direct and star in the said movie but decided to quit.
The Batman will be released in 2021.
