A source close to the actress exclusively told E! News that she’s not only happy and content for the newly engaged couple but she also knew it was coming. The source shared, “Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew about it.” The source continued, “Jen is happy for Ben. And knows that J. Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.”
The source also mentioned that Ben and J.Lo are excited about the next chapter of their lives but, “They had hoped to keep it private a little bit longer.”
A separate source told the outlet the same thing regarding the couple’s engagement. The insider revealed that Bennifer 2.0 tried to keep the good news private. J.Lo has announced it in a video message by showing to her fans her huge green engagement ring on April 8 while adding, “private for as long as possible.”
The same source shared that their engagement was “a very intimate moment, just them two”, adding, “The proposal was low-key but very meaningful. Ben wanted the ring to be sentimental and put a lot of thought into it.”
Indeed, the green ring was well thought of, after all, J.Lo has some sort of connection to the color green and its sentimental value in her life. A few years ago, she attended the 2000 Grammys in a stunning green chiffon dress which turned heads at the event and eventually inspired Google to launch its Google Images.
This isn’t the first time that the couple got engaged. They were engaged almost two decades ago before they called it off and went their separate ways in 2004. The two of them remained good friends after their split. Ben eventually married Jennifer Garner and they had three kids: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. However, the two got divorced in 2018.
On the other hand, J.Lo married Marc Anthony and had twins Emme and Max. They split in 2014. She was in a relationship with Alex Rodriguez for four years before they ended their engagement last year and split.
Last weekend, Jennifer Lopez was spotted wearing the engagement ring while house-hunting with Ben Affleck.
