The Little Mermaid’s Halle Bailey is setting the record straight once and for all, after rumors of her and her sister, Chlöe Bailey’s alleged plastic surgery went viral.
The 22-year-old actress, who’ll be playing the well-loved Disney mermaid in the live-action version of the Disney classic, addressed the plastic surgery rumors on Twitter on April 13. She tweeted, “lmaooo not y’all thinking i got boob implants whattt.” She also added laughing and crying emojis to her post.
She added, “no ma’am,” and continued to explain that she and her sister Chlöe were blessed in their own little ways. According to her, “God gave me these and gave chloe the booty.”
Halle’s tweet came weeks after she and her 23-year-old sister attended the 2022 Oscars together. During the event, Halle wore a Roberto Cavalli pale turquoise gown that showed off her leg. On the other hand, Chlöe wore an equally eye-popping dress with a high slit.
The sisters revealed in an interview with E! News last March how they support each other. Halle revealed how her sister helped her deal with “imposter syndrome” saying, “It just feels so surreal to be doing meetings [with] all these people that I’m such big fans of and sometimes you feel like you have imposter syndrome. Chlöe was lifting my spirits up the other day like, ‘No, you’re meant to be in there too.’ I think that’s just so powerful and so special to have someone like her in my life where she can just remind me of that.”
Halle added that Chlöe has been there for her since they were younger. She said, “My sister empowers me every day just by being herself and watching how hard she works. I think that I’ve always had a great example in her growing up of what I would like to be and what impact I would want to have on people.”
On the other hand, Chlöe refers to Halle as her source of strength. She explained, “Anytime I’m feeling discouraged, or like if I’m doubting myself, Halle will be the first one to make me snap out of it. I’m so grateful to be on this journey of life with her, because there’s so many moments where I do doubt myself and my capabilities. Having someone who knows every single bit and piece of me encourage me, it means the world every single time.”
