There are many celebrities who grace the Met Gala red carpet and if there’s one who never fails to impress the crowd and leave a lasting good impression, it has to be Blake Lively.
The fashion icon and actress once again delivered a show-stopping red carpet moment when she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC in May for the 2022 Met Gala. This year, Lively had not one, but two different looks all by Versace Atelier.
The actress arrived at the event with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. At first, she was wearing a copper dress with a giant bow on the right side of her hip. When she finally got in front of the photographers, her assistants came toward her and revealed another look. The “bow” transformed to reveal a green look, a reference to NYC’s famous landmark, the Statue of Liberty. It goes in line with this year’s theme, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” Aside from the stunning new look, she also changed her copper gloves with green ones to match her dress.
Lively’s final look is adorned with crystals and the bodice featured art deco architecture from the well-known Empire State Building. Further, it also includes other references such as the constellation from the Grand Central Station.
To complete her 2022 Met Gala look, she wore a jeweled tiara and sparkling emerald and diamond earrings.
This year is the actress’ 14th Met Gala red carpet attendance. But what makes this year different and special from the rest? It turns out that she’s a co-chair of the highly anticipated event.
The past few years showcased her Met Gala red carpet transformations. She knows exactly what to wear and how to wear it whether she’s wearing a blue minidress by Marchesa or a nude Gucci gown with a plunging neckline. Meanwhile, she’s been chosen to model Versace several times already. For instance, in 2017 she wore a gold and blue dress with a feathered train by Versace, and a year later she wore a stunning Versace bejeweled crimson dress during the 2018 Met Gala.
Lively’s 2022 Met Gala look is undoubtedly one of the best this year. After all, who can forget that epic double dress reveal?
As was reaported earlier, Zendaya, one of the most highly-anticipated actresses to grace the red carpet at the Met Gala, wasn’t going to attend the event.
