Who can forget Kim Kardashian’s 2022 Met Gala look?
The SKIMS founder wore Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress which she wore when she sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President” on John F. Kennedy’s birthday in 1962. The dress is over 60 years old and was on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
In order to fit into the dress, the reality lost 16 pounds in three weeks. She has received backlash both for wearing the dress, which some experts believed to be worn only by Marilyn Monroe, and for losing weight while on a no-carb, no-sugar diet.
Kim’s trainer, Don-A-Matrix, revealed how the reality star was able to accomplish her goal in such a short time. He told TMZ, “I think one of the misconceptions people have about Kim is she works like, really hard, so I was there through the process. So, it wasn’t like a starving herself type of thing. I mean, she’s been on a balanced diet. At times, she wouldn’t eat as much, but the second thing is she really put the work in.”
He also made it clear that there was nothing unhealthy about her weight loss journey. He explained, “Not at all. Not from my end from what I saw. We were working out sometimes twice a day.” He also added that “it’s possible to lose 20 pounds in a healthy way.”
Kim actually shared her weight loss secret with Vogue during the 2022 Met Gala. According to her, she cut out carbs and sugar. Her workout also included running on the treadmill and wearing a sauna suit two times a day. However, the reality star emphasized that she ate food and clarified, “I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”
One of the people who seemingly shaded her incredible weight loss was Riverdale star Lilli Reinhart. She took to her Instagram Story the day after the Met Gala, writing, “To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are… because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month…all to fit in a f–king dress?” She added, “So wrong. So f—-d on 100s of levels.”
Meanwhile, Kim hasn’t responded to the issue.
