Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine are making headlines these past few days.
The 34-year-old Victoria’s Secret model and the 43-year-old Maroon 5 vocalist’s marriage was put to the test after social media influencer, Sumner Stroh, revealed that she had a one-year affair with the musician.
Prinsloo hasn’t spoken out publicly about the cheating allegation but a friend close to the couple revealed her current state. The insider exclusively told E! News, “Behati is upset but she does believe him that there was no physical affair. They have been together this entire time. She feels they are happily married and is shocked to find out what was going on behind her back.”
Levine denied the allegations. The source added that there are “no excuses for his inappropriate behavior though he assured “it was nothing physical.”
“He’s disappointed in himself and upset that he has hurt his family like this,” the insider added. “It’s a wake-up call and has made him realize that he has a lot to work on.”
The vocalist took to his Instagram Story on September 20, “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.”
Levine and Prinsloo got married in 2014. They share two children: Dusty Rose, 5, and Gio Grace, 4. The couple also revealed recently that they’re expecting their third child together. On September 15, the model shared a photo on Instagram showing her posing in a window’s reflection wearing a graphic tee and cargo pants. Her baby bump was visible under the shirt. She captioned it, “Recent.”
Levine shared regarding his past behavior, “In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world.”
This cheating allegation against Levine was fueled by a past interview. In 2009, he was featured in Cosmopolitan’s “Fun Fearless Males.” One of the questions he was asked was why guys cheat. He answered that time, “Instinctively, monogamy is not in our genetic makeup. People cheat. I have cheated. And you know what? There is nothing worse than the feeling of doing it.”
