Nickayla Rivera, Naya Rivera’s sister, answered to reports about why she’s moved in with Josey and Ryan Dorsey after the Glee star died through accidental drowning in July.

Nickayla is asking people for “compassion” after a report claimed that she moved into a new house with her sister’s former husband and father of her nephew, Ryan. She didn’t deny or confirm the said report but instead, she insisted that her main priority is Josey, Naya’s only child.

The model posted on her Instagram Story, “In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends & family. Showing up for my nephew, even though I can’t show up for myself.”

The model went on to write, “What matters most I’ve learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others, & never take a moment of life for granted. I hope you all do the same.”

Meanwhile, Ryan hasn’t commented regarding the matter. He and Naya were married for a couple of years but they decided to go their separate ways in 2016, only a year after Josey was born. However, the two maintained a good relationship and did a wonderful job co-parenting their young boy after the divorce.

Also, Ryan penned a heartwarming tribute to Naya following her death. He talked about how grateful he was for their times together and their journey that brought them together and gave them the sweetest and kindest smart son they could ever hope for. Meanwhile, Ryan maintains full custody of their five-year-old son.

It’s been more than two months since Naya died. She was out with Josey swimming at a lake in California when she disappeared on July 8.  According to the investigation and autopsy report, Naya wasn’t wearing a life jacket when she swam. She saved her son’s life during her final moments by pushing him back onto the boat they rented before she drowned.

Meanwhile, her family had a private funeral for the Glee alum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California last July 24. Her Glee co-stars also shared their tributes to the actress in their respective social media accounts.
