Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne Spears, issued a public apology for the “pain” the singer had been throughout her conservatorship which lasted for 13 years.

She recently commented on Instagram, pleading for the pop icon’s forgiveness. Britney shared a long post stating that “a genuine apology would help give [her] closure” in their family feud.

“I am soooo sorry for your pain! I have been sorry for years!” Lynne commented.

“I love you so much and miss you!” she added. “Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for anything and everything that’s hurt you!”

Moreover, the 67-year-old author begged her 40-year-old daughter to “please unblock” her so that they “can speak … in person.” She’s been trying to get in touch with Britney over the phone but to no avail. It gave her no choice but to take to social media instead.

Britney talked about her family in a recent Instagram post. According to her, her family members have “no conscious [sic] whatsoever and really believe in their minds they have done nothing wrong at all” during her conservatorship. Her father, Jamie Spears, controlled her personal, medical, and financial decisions from the start of her conservatorship in February 2008 until he was suspended as her conservator in September 2021.

In November 2021, a Los Angeles judge terminated her conservatorship, which came almost five months after Britney claimed that the 70-year-old sent her to a mental health facility and forced her to go on tour against her will.

She added in her Instagram post, “I don’t have a family that values me or respects me …. AT ALL !!! That’s the hard part for me and as much as I loved them, it’s something that I’ll [sic] probably ever won’t be able to get over.”

Lynne didn’t have a formal role in her daughter’s conservatorship like her dad, but she was considered an interested party. In fact, she previously filed for a petition requesting that the singer’s estate should pay her legal fees amounting to more than $600,000.

Britney also felt hurt that her mom didn’t do anything to stop her father because they used to be so close. She always had a strained relationship with her father for a long time, too. Meanwhile, she and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears aren’t on good terms as well.
