Many have been speculating that Victoria Beckham and David Beckham have marital problems after the tattoos she had in honor of her husband started to disappear from her body. These faded designs included the soccer star’s initials on her left wrist and a Hebrew phrase which was tattooed on her spine to match that of the athlete’s arm.
The former Spice Girls member set the record straight once and for all when she recently appeared on Today with Hoda & Jenna on October 13. She revealed, “They just didn’t look so nice. It doesn’t mean anything more than that.”
According to the fashion designer, the tattoos she got “a long, long time ago” have changed into a “sort of bluey” color after all these years. She felt unhappy at the way they looked so she decided to “cleanse” her body of the tattoos.
She shared, “I was just a bit sick of the tattoo. It’s as simple as that.”
Victoria and David are among the most popular celebrity couples who have been married for a long time. The two tied the knot in 1999 and made it a habit to have multiple tribute tattoos to each other. In fact, they’ve passed on their love for tats to their son, Brooklyn Beckham, who also has several tattoos in honor of his wife, Nicola Peltz.
Just recently, he surprised the actress with the word “Married” tattooed on his hand. Also, he has a tattoo at the back of his neck showing a sketch of his wife’s eyes. As if these aren’t enough, he also has their wedding vows inked on his arm.
Victoria also told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Harper about Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding last April 9 at their family’s multi-million-dollar property in Palm Beach, Florida. She said, “It was a beautiful wedding. As a mother, to see my son so happy means so much.”
She added, “What more can you ask for?”
The couple got engaged in July 2020. They had a Jewish wedding ceremony in an oceanfront tent surrounded by hanging orchids. It was officiated by a rabbi and Nicola walked down the aisle with her father, billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz. Meanwhile, Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo and Cruz served as his groomsmen while his sister Harper was a bridesmaid.
