Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde released a joint statement after their children’s former nanny threw accusations at them.
The ex-couple shares two children together, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 4. The Daily Mail published an interview with their former nanny on October 17. The nanny, whose name wasn’t revealed, provided details into the pair’s relationship, especially what happened prior to their split in 2020. She also claimed that she got fired without severance pay.
Sudeikis and Wilde responded to her accusations through a joint statement to E! News, which read, “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.”
The former couple also accused the nanny of launching a “now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues,” adding that her allegations have “reached its unfortunate apex.”
They added, “We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”
Sudeikis and Wilde split in 2020 after being together for almost ten years. They broke up while the 38-year-old actress was filming Don’t Worry Darling, which stars her present boyfriend Harry Styles.
According to the nanny’s interview, the 47-year-old Ted Lasso star was heartbroken after discovering the text messages between his ex-fiancée and the former member of One Direction on an Apple Watch.
She also alleged that Sudeikis once laid under the actress’ car to stop her from leaving after a fight. Further, she claimed that the actor got upset after Wilde made a salad for Styles, saying, “Out of everything, he was like, ‘she made her special salad dressing and took it to him.'”
Recently, Wilde slammed rumors that she broke up with Sudeikis because of the 28-year-old Watermelon Sugar singer. She told Vanity Fair last month, “The complete horseshit idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate. Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends, it doesn’t end overnight. Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we officially dissolved the relationship towards the beginning of the pandemic. We were raising two kids during lockdown, so we co-parented through that time. Once it became clear that cohabitating was no longer beneficial for the children, it became the responsible thing to not, because we could be better parents as friends who live in different places.
