A source close to the supermodel told PEOPLE that she’s accustomed to doing things on her own adding, “Gisele is dealing with issues that have been plaguing her for a long time.”
According to the source, the split “was hard at first” for the 42-year-old “but enough time has passed that she is settling in.”
The insider explained that she “has lived her own life for years while Tom played football so she is not afraid to do things by herself.”
The mother-of-two’s “main focus and priority” is still her children whom she shares with the 45-year-old athlete, namely son Benjamin Rein, 12, and daughter Vivian Lake, 9.
“Gisele is great with her children and radiates happiness when either one or both are around, having them with her has helped her move ahead,” the source said, adding that nothing is more important to her than her kids’ happiness. In fact, the sourse confirmed, “They will be with both parents and should come out of this in good shape.”
On the other hand, another insider told PEOPLE that the model went shopping with her children in Miami Beach recently and she “looked beautiful and seemed fine.”
The source said, “You would never know she was going through a split from her husband” and that she “is also eager to continue with her own career and interests” now that she’s legally single.
“She has a full plate and lots of support,” the source added.
Bündchen and Brady have been married for 13 years. The divorce didn’t come as a surprise as they’ve been living separately for months now. They’ve filed and finalized their divorce on October 28 and based on a three-page legal document obtained by the outlet, a judge in Glades County, Florida signed their petition for the dissolution of their marriage and declared the pair’s marriage as dissolved and “irretrievably broken.”
A different insider also told PEOPLE, “The settlement is all worked out. They’ve been working on the terms this whole time.”
As for their children, the source confirmed, “They agreed to joint custody of the kids.”
