Avery Cyrus, the ex-girlfriend of JoJo Siwa, is clearing the air once and for all.
Just recently, the “Boomerang” singer shared a cryptic video online which seemingly shaded her ex. According to her, she was “used for views and clout.” The post came two days after Avery shared the news of their breakup on December 17.
Avery exclusively told E! News through a statement, “From my perspective, me and JoJo left on great terms and are still friends. The relationship was very real, and I have nothing but love for JoJo and her family.”
“I’m still very hurt that JoJo broke up with me,” Avery added. “And I’m saddened and confused by the situation.”
Her statement came a day after Jessalynn Siwa, JoJo’s mom, shared a video of her daughter on her Instagram Stories where she’s seen pacing back and forth and ranting.
Based on the video, her mom asked the Nickelodeon alum why she’s “mad” and she answered, “Because I got used, for views and for clout.” According to her, she “got tricked into being told I was loved and I got f–king played.”
Avery confirmed their split on December 17 through TikTok, more than two months after they confirmed their relationship. She shared a footage of the cruise they went to together and there was a part where JoJo said, “This is my ‘Sorry for Breaking Up With You’ present,” while holding up an arcade game prize.
A TikTok user commented, “Now I just want to know why,” and Avery replied, “We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out!”
Meanwhile, she still referred to the footage of their cruise as the “Best trip EVER” based on her caption. As for JoJo, she also shared the same sentiment as her ex that time by sharing on her Instagram Story, “best trip of my entire life.”
On October 12, JoJo also exclusively told the outlet about how Avery was “so positive” about their romance. She said, “She’s so fun to be around. All my family, all my friends love and respect the life out of her. She brings such a great energy to my bubble, and I’m really, really grateful.”
