He took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend to defend his wife by posting, “Don’t believe what you read online people.”
His post came hours after TMZ reported that the 41-year-old pop star caused a scene on Friday night at Joey, a restaurant in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. The couple showed up with their bodyguard at the restaurant packed with patrons who recognized the singer.
Based on the outlet’s report, witnesses claimed that Britney was acting “manic” and “talking gibberish.” Then the 28-year-old actor got upset and stormed out.
However, based on a video obtained by the outlet, Spears was shielding her face with the restaurant menu as another restaurant customer started filming her with a cellphone. The footage also didn’t show that she was speaking “gibberish.” It also didn’t show the personal trainer storming out of the restaurant.
According to Page Six, a manager at Joey couldn’t “disclose any information” about the celebrity couple’s visit to their restaurant.
However, an employee exclusively told Page Six, “The disruptor wasn’t Britney — it was the diner who taunted her by taking a video without consent.” According to the staffer, the singer was “understandably upset” and that her husband “only left briefly to get their car, but he did not storm out.”
Spears addressed the incident through an Instagram video where she gave the middle finger. She also wrote on Instagram on Sunday night, “I know the news is all hyped about me being a little drunk at a restaurant … it’s like they’ll be WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE 👀 !!! I’m so flattered they talk about me like a maniac THEN have the balls to talk about all the negative things that happened in my past !!!”
The multi-awarded singer was under a conservatorship for 14 years with her estranged dad, Jamie Spears, controlling her life, especially her personal, financial, and medical affairs. The conservatorship finally ended after a Los Angeles judge terminated it in November 2021. She and Asghari tied the knot six months later.
