A lot of people have been following the lives of the Royal Family. Royal biographer Robert Lacey revealed in his new book entitled Battle of Brothers: William & Harry some of the biggest bombshells into the lives of Princes William and Harry.
The biography features the controversial moments that led to Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave England and step down from their positions as senior members of the royal family. The book also covers behind-the-scene conversations that affected Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, and Prince Charles.
Although these were already tackled in the book Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Lacey focused more on the displeasures that William has over his younger brother.
The Daily Mail previewed a part of the book where Lacey said that according to his sources, William didn’t think highly of his Harry especially with the arrival of his nephew, Archie Harrison.
In fact, Lacey revealed it took William and his wife Kate Middleton more than a week before finally meeting the newborn at Frogmore Cottage. He added that it was a sign of displeasure that they didn’t take with them their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Further, Lacey explained that the brothers’ relationship turned sour when William found out that the couple didn’t reveal the names of their son’s godparents. According to Lacey, William’s friends suggested that the future king couldn’t comprehend how they could misunderstand a basic constitutional principle.
Lacy mentioned that this shocked the royals and many aristocrats because these godparents or sponsors will have great influence on Archie. It’s also crucial if ever the line of succession will dwindle down to Harry and his son who are sixth and seventh in the line to the throne, respectively.
Harry and Meghan decided to step down as senior members of the royal family earlier this year. They officially left the royal family in March. The coronavirus pandemic separated them from their relatives since then but Prince William and Harry had been communicating. In fact, they’ve celebrated their birthdays and more in the past few months.
